Dr. Wayne Grudem


We are honored that Dr. Wayne Grudem, renowned theologian and author who is currently Research Professor of Theology and Biblical Studies at Phoenix Seminary, will be our guest speaker. 

Dr. Grudem and his wife, Margaret, are among Christian Heritage Academy's five founding families. They had a dream and a calling from the Lord to establish a Christian school on the North Shore, and now, as we celebrate our 35th year, we also celebrate the faithfulness of the Grudems and many other families over the years who have invested in the mission of CHA.

We hope you will plan to join us for this very special evening with Dr. Grudem.

TOUR DAY & SHADOW DAY
Friday, March 1


March 1 is a big day at CHA! Please invite your friends to join us for Tour Day, 8:30-11:30 AM! It's an informal morning, with coffee and treats, for prospective parents learn about CHA's mission and vision. They will have the opportunity to meet our staff and other school parents, tour the campus, and step into classrooms to observe teachers and students interacting. We'll also attend our weekly chapel, and end the  morning with an informative "Q & A" with Dr. Hertzberg and Miss Okamoto.

March 1 is also our next Upper School Shadow Day! Prospective students are invited to experience a day in our upper school (grades 9-12)! Visiting students will accompany a current CHA student to classes, lunch and chapel, and gain a sense of the community in our Upper School.

"JUULS, Vaping & e-Cigarettes,
Do You Know the Real Truth?"

We are hearing more and more about youth engaging in JUULs, vaping, and e-cigarettes in our communities.

Find out what is impacting youth use, the risks and consequences of using a vaping device and what you, as a parent, can do to help your teen make a healthy choice.

We have invited Erin Tegge, Prevention Program Coordinator at PEER Services, providing direct prevention services to Evanston and the surrounding communities, to come and speak. Erin has been with PEER Services since 2014 working in the prevention department. She has over ten years of experience in the field of Social Work and has worked with youth, families and adults in a variety of capacities. Erin previously attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she received her B.S. in Psychology. She continued her studies at the University of Chicago, where she graduated with a Masters in Social Service Administration (Social Work). She is also a Timothy Christian Schools alum.

We’ve all heard some variation of the phrase “when life knocks you down, get back up,” but how do we foster this in our children? The ability to bounce back from stress, trauma, or adversity, not only encourages kids to be braver and more curious, but also helps them be more adaptable in a challenging and changing world.

This free discussion opportunity takes place in Lake Forest and is offered by Erika's Lighthouse, a nonprofit organization based in Winnetka. They provide free mental health resources to parents and educators throughout the North Shore and beyond. Though not a Christian organization, this event, presented by expert speakers, promotes healthy behaviors and techniques for parents and students. More information and registration.

Volunteer for the "Front of the House" Team and receive a free ticket to "And a Child Shall Lead."  Shifts available prior to the Friday evening and/or Saturday matinee performances. Volunteers would need to arrive one hour before showtime. Needed for each performance:

Valentine Food Drive

The Upper School National Honor Society is sponsoring a Valentine Food Drive for the Northfield Food Pantry.

ALL GRADES are invited to participate in this community effort to re-stock our local pantry after the holidays. Collection dates:

Reduce Your Tuition Bill

A reminder that current families can earn $2000 (less for part time Kindergarten and Pre-school) for every prospective student recommended who eventually enrolls at CHA.

Please join us at Potbelly at Willow Festival Shopping Center in Northbrook for a fundraiser to benefit the US Play, "And a Child Shall Lead." Order an after school snack or bring your family for dinner.  Potbelly is donating 25% of the proceeds to CHA!

Bring in Box Tops, with your teacher name and grade included, from now through February 26. The class that collects the most box tops wins a popcorn party!

Yearbook Automatic Orders
Deadline to Change your Order:
TOMORROW, Friday, February 15


The yearbook order deadline to change or opt-out of automatic yearbook orders is TOMORROW, February 15.

Every Preschool-Grade 12 student is automatically ordered a CHA yearbook and the cost is billed on your March tuition invoice.

If you wish to change your family yearbook order (increase, decrease or eliminate), you must complete and turn in the Yearbook "Change or Cancel Yearbook Order Form" by Friday, February 15. For this form, yearbook pricing, and more information, click the Yearbook quicklink link on Parent Central.

Polishing Cloths Needed

Mrs. Swanson's handbell class is in need of polishing cloths in the form of clean, old T-shirts or terry-cloth towels. Would you have some that you can donate? They can be dropped off in the choir room, 401. Thank you!

Parent Prayer Opportunities

We believe that prayer is a powerful way in which we as a community can lift up our school before the Lord to seek His protection, guidance and blessing. Through the efforts of PVO, many opportunities are available for parents to come together in prayer. Please feel free to join any of the prayer times listed below as your schedule allows.
