Did You Know?

As we celebrate our 35th anniversary this year, and look toward our Annual Spring Benefit, we thought we would share some fun historical tidbits about CHA you that you may not know. In this issue of Parents' Page, we focus on the early days of CHA. Watch for more in the next issue!

Showing our Colors
Our school colors were not always navy and white, or even royal blue and white. From the school's founding, up until the late 1980's, CHA's school colors were maroon and cream!

Coming Events

ANNUAL SPRING BENEFIT

Special Guest Speaker:
Dr. Wayne Grudem

We are honored that Dr. Wayne Grudem, renowned theologian and author who is currently Research Professor of Theology and Biblical Studies at Phoenix Seminary, will be our guest speaker.

Dr. Grudem and his wife, Margaret, are among Christian Heritage Academy's five founding families. They had a dream and a calling from the Lord to establish a Christian school on the North Shore. Now, as we celebrate our 35th year, we also celebrate the faithfulness of the Grudems and many other families over the years who have invested in the mission of CHA.

We hope you will plan to join us for this very special evening!

Serving Others - CHA Food Drive 2019

The Upper School's National Honors Society organized a food drive that began on February 14, and ran through the end of the month. In the end, they collected 150 bags of groceries from our CHA community!

The students delivered the groceries to the Northfield Township Food Pantry last week. Thank you, students for all of your hard work, and thank you to our parents, faculty and staff who generously donated the many bags of much needed groceries.

Congratulations to Ms. Spera's third grade class for bringing in the most Box Tops during the winter Box Tops Contest! They have won a popcorn party! Great job, third graders! Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Keep cutting out Box Tops the rest of this year. We will have one more submission in May. Also, keep collecting over the summer too! Box Tops are an easy way to bring cash right to CHA.

Parent Prayer Opportunities

We believe that prayer is a powerful way in which we as a community can lift up our school before the Lord to seek His protection, guidance and blessing. Through the efforts of PVO, many opportunities are available for parents to come together in prayer. Please feel free to join any of the prayer times listed below as your schedule allows.

Speech and Debate Tournament at CHA

CHA is pleased to be hosting the Illinois State Speech and Debate Tournament for the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association (NCFCA). This event will see 200-300 students from all over the Midwest descending on our facility from Wednesday through Saturday, March 27-30.

Some of our own students will be participating in the tournament. To ensure success, it is critical that many from our community participate by serving as judges and in other volunteer capacities for the tournament. To learn more, or sign up to judge, go to: https://www.ncfca.org/judge/. Nearly 200 judges are needed for this event. No experience is necessary. Training is provided. Judges must be 18 or over.
