Walker's Senior Receives Comcast Scholarship
Garet Wierdsma '18 was selected as a 2017-2018 Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program recipient. The $1,000 scholarship is funded through the Comcast Foundation and recognizes high school seniors from Comcast communities for their commitment to community service, academics, and leadership. Hooray Sunray, Garet!

VITA 2018 Registration Open
Walker's students, parents and alumnae have the opportunity to apply as a volunteer tax preparer through United Way's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which helps low to moderate wage earning individuals and families file their taxes at no cost to them. This year we will have a site in Hartford dedicated to Walker's students and adult volunteers. It's an amazing experience as evidenced by the work that our team accomplished last year in helping to return $17M in refunds to neighbors who had an average income of just over $22K per year. Last year we provided more than 700 hours of community service. We also learn about the US tax law system. Read more about last year's experience and register by clicking on the button below:
