Sixth Grade Ecology Students Extract Honey from Walker's Apiary
Mrs. Greshin's sixth grade Ecology class extracted
honey from our apiary on Friday morning with the help of Walker's parent and professional beekeeper Gilman Mucaj P'21. The students learned how an extractor works through centrifugal force and hand cranked the machine themselves. Their reward for their hard work was a taste of the honey right from the honeycomb and a jar of honey to take home.

Students Share Hispanic Heritage with
Walker's Community

During assembly on Wednesday, September 26, members of Walker's Latina American Student Organization (LASO) celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 through October 15) through the lens of storytelling. Students shared the many narratives and stories often told in Latino households and described important terms to know. Student allies then encouraged the community to learn about hispanic heritage by attending LASO meetings and conducting research through reading and cultural immersion.
