Walker's Observes MLK Day
On Monday, January 16, the Walker's community observed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by spending the day exploring the many women of the Civil Rights Movement whose stories have been forgotten or untold throughout history. Following an introduction to the day and musical presentations by the choir and African drum team, students and faculty broke into groups to study various women's contributions to civil rights. The day concluded with students sharing their findings with the Walker's community.
