Grandparents and Friends Enjoy
a Day on Campus

Grandparents and special friends enjoyed a day on campus today with their Walker's student(s) for Grandparent's and Friend's Day 2017. They attended classes and Morning Meeting, enjoyed tea with Head of School Dr. Meera Viswanathan, toured the Centennial Center, and had special family photos taken throughout the day.

Accepted Students and Families Visit Campus for Revisit Day 2017
Despite the rainy weather, admitted students and their families enjoyed a great day on campus on Tuesday for Revisit Day 2017. Students did a fantastic job representing the School by hosting admitted students, sharing classrooms, talking about their experiences at Walker's, and making our guests feel welcome!

Walker's Community Fights Childhood Cancer
This past Tuesday, April 4, Walker's Spanish teacher and varsity soccer coach Todd D'Alessandro shaved his head along with a group of like-minded soccer coaches (Coaches United Against Cancer) to show unity in the fight against childhood cancer. Along with the help of Walker's students and faculty, Todd was able to raise $650 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. The Coaches United Against Cancer team raised over $35,000!

Todd says, "We have a strong community service ethos here at Walker's. As a member of the Walker's community and soccer program, it felt great to to do my part and give back to those in need of assistance. I look forward to helping next year!"

Apply or Renew a Passport and

On Thursday, April 13, members of the Walker's community will have a chance to apply for or renew a passport and register to vote after the Naturalization Ceremony. We anticipate that the ceremony will conclude at approximately 3:30 pm in the gymnasium. Representatives from the U.S. Department of State and the Connecticut Secretary of the State's office will be on hand taking applications. Read more for the requirements. Please direct any questions to Michelle Helmin at mhelmin@ethelwalker.org.

Parents, there is still time to RSVP if you would like to attend. Students, faculty and staff will be participating in the program and do not need to RSVP.
