Seniors Celebrated at Annual Grace Academy Event in Hartford
On Thursday evening, Grace Academy celebrated its inaugural eighth grade class of girls who are now graduating high school seniors at their annual The Power of Grace event at the The Bushnell in Hartford. Our own Ximena Franco '17 and Jessica Hariprisad '17 were members of that class. Guests, including the mayor of Hartford, Luke Bronin, and Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, celebrated with the girls, their families, Associate Head of School Amy Wheeler and the girls' advisors, Ms. Isabel Ceballos and Ms. Mallory Pasquariello. Ximena was the featured speaker for the evening. Grace Academy serves girls in grades five through eight at their Hartford school where they prepare students for high-performance high schools and provide support for students throughout their high school careers (www.graceacademyhartford.org).

Addie Friedlander '18 and Daniela Ramirez '19 Named Athletes of the Week

  • Addie Friedlander, JV Tennis (Lake Placid, NY): "Motivated, Resilient, Happy" Addie played an amazing match against Westover. Playing in the position of first singles and down two games to five, she made a decision to change her game strategy. That decision forced her opponent to make a considerable amount of errors. She maintained her mental focus and stayed positive in order to win the match. Addie is always striving to improve her game.
  • Daniela Ramirez '19, Varsity Tennis (New York, NY): "Never Gives Up" Daniela has played a series of tough matches this season and has compiled a record of 4-1. Two of these victories have been come-from-behind wins. Her quiet competitiveness, determination and drive to win are exemplary.
