Interdisciplinary Week Coming Next Week for Grades 7 and 8

Last year, Grade 7 & 8 students participated in our first-ever Interdisciplinary Week, a pilot program that let students experience a different kind of learning, something closer to what they might see in their late high school careers than what they are used to seeing in Ridgefield Academy's Upper School. Students self-selected into four courses that were intensive week-long interdisciplinary programs put together by teachers, the topics of which were outside of the subjects they taught every day.

This year, our pilot program has become a standard part of the Upper School calendar. Last week, students in Grades 7 and 8 chose between four courses – Global Challenges, How the World Changed Music, America's Playgrounds: Our National Parks, and The Most Fascinating Country in the World. There is great excitement around the subject matter, the activities, and the field trips that await everyone next week!

Gently Used Uniform Collection and Sale

Keeping that in mind, we will be collecting gently used uniforms to sell at a much-reduced price to our families and at the same time raise money for RA. Collection of uniforms will begin after Spring Break. Please look for an email that details this fundraiser in the coming weeks.

LS Feel Good Friday on March 16

Feel Good Friday next Friday, March 16 is a music theme. Students are invited to dress up as rock stars, pop stars, country stars, musicians, composers, opera singers, or any other kind of musician they can think of! We will start the day with a sing along in Turner Hall and students have the option of playing an instrument for the class if it is something they do outside of school.

Grade 7 students work on making recordings of themselves for group video projects in Mr. Larsen's class.
