End of Summer Camp

Ridgefield Academy is excited to host a two-week course run by Upperline Code. Here is a brief description of the course, and you can find more information about both the course and Upperline Code at http://upperlinecode.com.

Web Development with Ruby: Curious about programming for the web? This is the course for you. In the first week of this course, our students learn the basics of Ruby, a language used by companies like Hulu and Kickstarter to manage their web content. In the second week, we use Ruby frameworks to build amazing web applications, like offering restaurant recommendations or creating a personalized gif based on your mood. Check out an example project here: http://upperlinecode.com/recipe

RA LS Book Drive

Are there books your children no longer read or have moved beyond?  Time to clean out those book shelves! Once again, the Lower School will be collecting gently used children's books to add to their classroom libraries. Once they have been leveled and sorted, extra books will be donated to the Ridgefield Library. We are most in need of very early reader books.

This was a huge success last year and all donations are appreciated.  This will be an ongoing effort until the end of the year.

RAPA Board and Leadership Nominations

Have you ever considered volunteering to be a leader of our Ridgefield Academy Parents' Association (RAPA)? Volunteering at our school can be extremely rewarding and does a great deal to support the various events and activities of our school.

All RA parents belong to RAPA and are eligible to be nominated for leadership roles. You may nominate yourself or someone else for the 2018-2019 RAPA Board and Executive positions by completing an online ballot between April 16 and April 30. More information will be shared via email on Monday.

Box Tops for Education

Field games are less than two months away! Help your child’s team gain point advantage by turning in your boxtops. Blue team is currently in the lead but just like sports, tides are easily turned with just a little bit of effort. No amount of boxtops is too small as it all adds up!
To submit boxtops, place them in an envelope or ziplock bag labeled with your child(ren)’s first/last name and “blue” or “white” (colors correspond to their field day teams) and drop off at your closest BoxTops collection box: the Summit Building Front Desk, Marcie Maguire’s office at the Lynch House and at the back door drop-off in the Annex Building.

Take a look at the participating products (http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/participating-products) to see how you can help RA.
