RA's Winter Coat Drive

With the cold weather hitting us this week, we will be kicking-off a winter coat drive at Ridgefield Academy. These cold winter months could be a struggle for some families so we are partnering with the Community Center of Northern Westchester by running this winter coat drive to help those in need. We will be collecting winter coats, hats and gloves of all sizes to help the community center and the clients they support in more than 30 communities in Northern Westchester. The center is also in need of baby clothes, diapers (sizes 4, 5, 6), baby wipes, and (new) kids’ pajamas. Any donation is greatly appreciated!

The collection wagons will be in the Summit and Annex lobby and our drive will end on Friday, January 18th. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to Jessica Brooks.

Mrs. Penn always makes music class so much fun!

January Book Review

This Month’s Featured Book—brought to you by the librarians at the Ridgefield Academy library!
Off the coast of British Columbia on the edge of the Great Bear Sea, there is a natural sanctuary where seals, sea lions, and otters take refuge from storms and predators (like orcas). The Seal Garden by Ian McAllister and Nicholas Read presents stunning nature photography of the animals in this protected area. Gorgeous photos taken both above and under the water capture life in this unique habitat. It is one of a series called The Great Bear Rainforest.
All ages.

Your Annual Fund Dollars At Work

The Ridgefield Academy Annual Fund allows our students to continue to benefit from the many opportunities at RA to learn, grow and challenge themselves. Mo Carleton, RA's Director of Development writes monthly pieces entitled Your Annual Fund Dollars at Work. This gives our community examples of how all annual fund gifts are put into immediate action to provide support to RA's programs, indoor and outdoor learning spaces, and the talented faculty who inspire our students to become capable learners. Please read Mo's second edition of Your Annual Fund Dollars at Work here!

News From The Center

The Center supports RA Reads, an initiative to share what faculty members are reading with the RA community.
