Rise Against Hunger Event at RA

On Monday, April 22, as part of our efforts to help end world hunger, RA is very excited to have the opportunity to host a Rise Against Hunger event as part of the school's Service Day. Students in Grades 2-8 along with faculty and staff members will pack over 10,000 bag meals of soy, grains and dehydrated vegetables to be shipped to areas suffering from hunger due to poverty or natural disasters. Rise Against Hunger’s mission is to end world hunger by the year 2030 and RA is proud to take part in their movement. During the day Middle and Upper School students will participate in activities and discussions around hunger. Holly Kennedy from Filling In The Blanks is coming to speak to them about families suffering from hunger in our area and ways we can all made a difference in our communities.

Our preschool students worked hard this week to decorate brown paper bags to prepare for Monday. Students in Grades K-1 plan to make and pack 150 bagged lunches which will be delivered to a local soup kitchen and emergency shelter.

Our entire RA community is excited and very much looking forward to our up coming Service Day and working together to help make a difference!
