Come March with RA on Memorial Day!

On Monday, May 27, the town of Ridgefield will once again hold it's annual Memorial Day Parade. Ridgefield Academy and Landmark Preschool will be marching in the parade this year and we want you to come march with us! Please come to lawn of Jesse Lee Church at 10:45am and find our group to join the parade and show your school pride!

Save the Date for Touch-A-Truck

Join us on Saturday, June 1 from 9-11am for the 7th annual Touch-A-Truck event! A variety of construction and emergency vehicles will be on location at RA and children are encouraged to touch, climb, and learn! A food truck will be on hand and guests can visit our Book Fair and Art Beats exhibit as well! This event is a popular one and children not only learn how these vehicles are used every day but also enjoy getting behind the wheel, turning on sirens and blowing horns. Please RSVP to let us know you will be joining us! And also share this event with your friends on FaceBook!

Book Fair

Ridgefield Academy will host a schoolwide Scholastic Book Fair from May 31 through June 5. Families, faculty, and the community are invited to attend this reading event, which inspires children to become lifelong readers.

On Monday, June 3, from 6-7pm, the Scholastic Book Fair will feature a special LS/MS Pajama Night. Come to school in your PJs and enjoy some yummy cookies and milk while listening to fun stories with your friends!

The Book Fair will run:
Friday May 31st - 8:30am-4pm
Saturday June 1st - 9:30am-12pm
Monday June 3rd - 8am-4pm and Pajama Night 6pm-7pm
Tuesday June 4th - 8am-4pm
Wednesday June 5th - 8am-2pm

The Scholastic Book Fair offers specially priced books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles, new releases, and other great reads from dozens of publishers. Come out and support your school while helping your child develop their love or reading!

We need many volunteers, so please visit and sign up to help!

Art Beats is Coming

Art Beats is coming the first week in June and will feature art work from Grades K-3 that will hang in the Summit Building. It will showcase all work completed during the second half of the year. Classes will informally tour the show to learn about projects in upcoming years. In addition, Kindergarten students will take their buddies through the show and tell them about their art. This event will happen at the same time as the RA Book Fair and Touch-A-Truck events.

Ridgefield Torch Run

Students in K- 6 will be lining Main Street in Ridgefield on Friday, June 7 to cheer on the runners in the Torch Run to support CT Special Olympics. If parents would like to join the students and cheer they can meet our group on Main Street at 9am. Please note that students will be traveling to and from Main Street with the school and standing and cheering along with their teachers for the entire event.

Two Special Ways to Support RA

Have you seen the Commemorative Bricks below RA’s flag?
RA’s commemorative brick program, which began last year for the auction, was re-opened this spring! The bricks overlook our playground and athletic fields, creating a lasting tribute for students, their families and guests to appreciate for years to come! These personalized bricks offer a unique way to showcase families, celebrate milestones, show your appreciation to a Ridgefield Academy faculty or staff member. Your gift will serve as an enduring reminder that everyone deserves the opportunity to live, learn, and grow to their fullest potential.

Bricks are $250 each and may be personalized with up to 3 lines of text. All orders received by June 1, 2019 will be installed during the Summer of 2019. Please purchase your brick here!

Giving Tree: Campus Landscaping
Help enhance the grounds of RA. Gala 2019 attendees donated the funds landscape the external entrance to Hope Hall, making it more visually inviting. Two additional phases to this campus landscaping initiative to enhance the RA Campus remain:

  • Easy growing Spirea, with their yellow leaves and red flowers, will be interspersed with boxwood shrubs on the Annex side of the Summit building, creating a wall of color, as well as add structural interest. Goal: $5,000

  • With a goal of providing a positive, welcoming first impression of the school, Japanese Flowering Cherry Trees will be planted in between each existing old maple tree that runs the perimeter of the stone wall that faces West Mountain Road. Goal: $5,000

A Friendly Reminder from RA's Business Office

This is a friendly reminder that June 1 is the due date for tuition payments for the 2019-20 school year. Earlier this month, families received important emails:
-Financial Information for Ridgefield Academy and Landmark Preschool
-Your Smart Tuition Invoice for June 1 payment due
-New families: your Welcome Letter from Smart Tuition was emailed shortly after your enrollment contract was completed.

Please mail your tuition checks to Smart Tuition or enter your bank account/routing number online to complete payment by the June 1 due date. Note that enrollment contracts are binding as of June 1.

We appreciate your timely response to fulfill outstanding invoices and encourage families to use their Smart Tuition account to review their balance each month.

If you have any questions, please contact your campus admissions office. Thank you!
