In the afternoon, K-3 students have made fun choices on activities happening around the building offered by all of the teachers.

Graduation is next Wednesday, June 12

Our 2019 Graduation ceremony will take place in Graduation Garden on Wednesday, June 12 at 10am. As is tradition at our school, all students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 will be in attendance. We invite our entire community to join us as we celebrate the journey of our graduates and wish them well as they depart from our school.

Dismissal on June 12

Next Wednesday, June 12 is the last day of school for students in K - Grade 8 (Preschool's last day is Tuesday, June 11). Please make sure your child's dismissal information is updated and accurate so that we are not holding buses for children who were picked up by their parents.

School will dismiss on an early dismissal schedule on both Tuesday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 12.

Lower School had tons of fun at their Field Day!

A Friendly Reminder from RA's Business Office

This is a friendly reminder that June 1 was the due date for tuition payments for the 2019-20 school year. Earlier this month, families received important emails:
-Financial Information for Ridgefield Academy and Landmark Preschool
-Your Smart Tuition Invoice for June 1 payment due
-New families: your Welcome Letter from Smart Tuition was emailed shortly after your enrollment contract was completed.

Please mail your tuition checks to Smart Tuition or enter your bank account/routing number online to complete payment as soon as possible.

We appreciate your timely response to fulfill outstanding invoices and encourage families to use their Smart Tuition account to review their balance each month.

If you have any questions, please contact your campus admissions office. Thank you!

Two Special Ways to Support RA

Have you seen the Commemorative Bricks below RA’s flag?
RA’s commemorative brick program, which began last year for the auction, was re-opened this spring! The bricks overlook our playground and athletic fields, creating a lasting tribute for students, their families and guests to appreciate for years to come! These personalized bricks offer a unique way to showcase families, celebrate milestones, show your appreciation to a Ridgefield Academy faculty or staff member. Your gift will serve as an enduring reminder that everyone deserves the opportunity to live, learn, and grow to their fullest potential.

Bricks are $250 each and may be personalized with up to 3 lines of text. All orders received by June 1, 2019 will be installed during the Summer of 2019. Please purchase your brick here!

Giving Tree: Campus Landscaping
Help enhance the grounds of RA. Gala 2019 attendees donated the funds landscape the external entrance to Hope Hall, making it more visually inviting. Two additional phases to this campus landscaping initiative to enhance the RA Campus remain:

  • Easy growing Spirea, with their yellow leaves and red flowers, will be interspersed with boxwood shrubs on the Annex side of the Summit building, creating a wall of color, as well as add structural interest. Goal: $5,000
  • With a goal of providing a positive, welcoming first impression of the school, Japanese Flowering Cherry Trees will be planted in between each existing old maple tree that runs the perimeter of the stone wall that faces West Mountain Road. Goal: $5,000

Love4Lucas Fest This Saturday in Pound Ridge

The Pound Ridge Elementary School PTA and the Love4Lucas Foundation are partnering to create the first annual LOVE4LUCAS FEST - a kid-focused, family-friendly event to celebrate silliness, joy and giving. The event will be held at the Pound Ridge Elementary School on Saturday, June 8, 2019 (rain date June 15) from 11am-3pm. Kids and families will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of on-site games and activities, while enjoying music and DJ. There will be food trucks with lunch, snacks, and dessert options. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Love4Lucas Foundation and the PRES PTA.
This event is being held in honor of Lucas Harashima, brother of RA student Kai, who at age 6 lost his battle with DIPG only 18 months after his diagnosis. As a result, the Pound Ridge community was inspired to come together and show their #LOVE4LUCAS.

Grade 4 students played with baby chicks as part of their Mammals unit.
