Interim Semester: Stronger Than Ever 45 Years On
The first Interim Semester included around 35 course options with trips to Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.  Over the years, course options ranged from the exotic to the strange -  28 hours in a Malaysian jungle, Yoga for Beauty, For Dog Lovers Only, and even Psychic Sciences!  Forty-five years later, Interim Semester has come a long way, spanning 58 courses in 19 countries this year. Read more>>

Self-confessed geography nerd, world traveler, and biological sciences fan, the teenage Michelle Schmitz (Class of 2007) wanted to become an epidemiologist after she experienced the SARS outbreak in Singapore. Read more>>

Summer Alumni Gatherings

1976-1983 class reunion in Mexico in June
Buddy Byington (Class of 1981) is organizing a reunion June 14-17 in Cozumel, Mexico primarily for class years 1976-1983, but all are welcome. More information is on Facebook. If you have any questions, contact Buddy at sasalumreunion@outlook.com.

20th class reunion in Chicago in June
Shari Vo-Ta Barnidge (Class of 1998) is hard at work planning the 20th class reunion for the class of 1998 on June 22-24. Check out the website for the reunion.

10th class reunion & party for all SAS alumni, IASAS and UWC alumni in New York City in August
Karen Chi-Chin Lin, Kaitlyn Newlin, Jane Hurh, and Esther Lukman are planning a reunion for the class of 2008 in New York City on August 11.  After dinner, there will be an after party open to all SAS alumni, IASAS alumni, and alumni from other Singapore international schools for drinks and dancing late into the night. Planning to Visit SAS?

We love having alumni come back to campus to visit! To ensure the safety and security of our current students, visits are now by appointment only and we ask alumni to pre-register at least 24 hours in advance by completing a campus visit form.  We hope to see you in Singapore soon!

Model UN in 1999: Over 200 delegates from 24 schools gathered in Manila for the 1999 Model United Nations for East Asia. The topics included nuclear and missile proliferation, external debt, toxic waste disposal, and self-determination. The emergency scenario, unknown in advance, focused on hostilities in the Korean peninsula.
