February 2019
Volume 20, Number 6

Saint Mary's launched its new athletics logo, Thursday, Jan. 10. The logo was created through a collaboration of student-athletes, coaches, the athletics director, the school administration, the marketing and communications office, and Clean branding and advertising agency. Click here or on the image to watch the video reveal that was presented to the student body in a pep rally in Bacon Gym, Jan. 20. Go, Saints!

Due to an overwhelming response from Saint Mary’s parents and alumnae, there is a wait list for Auction 2019. Please call Christiane Newell at 919-424-4107 if you would like to be added to the wait list. We will respond on a first-come, first-served basis. Although we are unable to accommodate all, there are still ways for you to participate in the event's success, including an online auction with "Saint-sational Experiences."  Curated especially for our Saint Mary's girls, these experiences will be available for online bidding prior to the February 22 event. Stay tuned for details. How fabulous would it be to have these sold out as well! Carolina versus Duke basketball tickets, Carolina Panthers tickets, Elton John tickets, and front row seats to graduation - these are just a few of the exciting offerings on the online auction block!

You can also make a donation to the Pittman Auditorium Fund-a-Project when you visit the Auction 2019 webpage.

Auction Weekend continues with special Saturday activities for Saint Mary’s students, families, and alumnae! Join us for a day of culture and college basketball! Gather at 10:30 a.m. at the new Gregg Museum of Art and Design on the N.C. State campus at 1902 Hillsborough Street. Saint Mary’s past parent and alumna Anne Pace will lead us on an exclusive tour of the current exhibitions. Afterwards, walk across Hillsborough to Player’s Retreat, a Raleigh dining tradition featuring the best burger in town, to catch up with the day's basketball games. To reserve your spot, email Anne Allen at aallenfam@gmail.com.

We are still in need of volunteers for the week leading up to the event. If you are interested, please email co-chair Liza Williams at lvw@me.com.

Saint Mary’s Development Office has launched a Valentine's Day of Giving campaign through our alumnae social and digital media channels to help us move closer to Saint Mary’s $1.55 million Annual Fund goal for 2019. Click here or on the image above to meet five alumnae and the spouses they married in our historic Chapel who were interviewed for a special video series: Rollie and Melissa Morrisette Tillman ’88HS, Jason and Dorothy Matteson Pierce ’04, Willard and Libby Holding Ross ’78C, Rob and Joanna Hill Worthington ’99, and Eric and Amy Harris Poss ’80HS. Their stories are as unique as they are moving and are the inspiration for our Valentine’s Day of Giving campaign. Make your annual gift to Saint Mary’s on or before Feb. 14, 2019, using this link to count in both the Valentine’s Day of Giving campaign and the 2018-2019 Annual Fund drive. To send a check by mail, add “Valentine’s Campaign” to the memo line and make sure it’s postmarked by Feb. 14. Or, call Lauren Gerber, director of annual fund and major gifts, at 919-424-4118 to give over the phone. We hope you'll be inspired to give during the Valentine's Day of Giving campaign!
