THREE STUDENTS CONFIRMED DURING EASTER EUCHARIST
The Saint Mary's campus community celebrated 2019 Easter Eucharist and confirmation, April 23, with the Rt. Rev. Anne Hodges-Copple, suffragan bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, presiding, along with our Chaplain Ann Bonner-Stewart. Three Saint Mary's students, pictured with their confirmation sponsors and Bishop Hodges-Copple, were confirmed or reaffirmed, joining a long line of students confirmed and reaffirmed in Saint Mary's Chapel over our school's history. Congratulations, to Chrismon Clark ’21 and Matilda McCard ’21, on their confirmation, and to Sydney Vermillion ’20, on her reaffirmation. Orchesis offered the gift of dance. It was a glorious festival day celebrating Easter together in our beloved Chapel.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATED WITH PLANTING OF TWO SAINT MARY’S OAK TREES
Saint Mary's Composting Committee and Community Garden leaders sponsored a special tree planting on campus, April 23, in honor of Earth Day 2019. The group planted two oak trees in our Grove of stately oak trees on front campus, grown from acorns collected in the Grove during the 175th anniversary year in 2017. Full story here.

THE ANNUAL FUND: INVESTING IN EACH YOUNG WOMAN’S SAINT MARY’S STORY
Think back on your Saint Mary’s story and what the school meant to you as a young woman. Then, think of each girl today experiencing her years at Saint Mary’s and creating her story. The fabric of memories each young woman weaves together today are much like those you experienced. As we prepare for another reunion this weekend with alumnae reminiscing about their memories in this special place, we hope that all alumnae will reflect on what Saint Mary’s meant to you. Your investment each year in the Annual Fund ensures that current students have the best possible education and experience. Support the Annual Fund and give back to the place that gave all alumnae so much in our educational and life journey. Every gift of every size counts toward meeting our goal of $1.55 million by June 30. Give online at www.sms.edu/give or call Lauren Gerber at 919-424-4118. Saint Mary’s Annual Fund: Our Legacy. Her Future.
