The Eighth Grade Musical, the final culmination of our Performing Arts classes, is well underway.

February 25, 2019

Dear Eighth Grade Parents,

The Eighth Grade Musical, the final culmination of our Performing Arts classes, is well underway. We will be creating our own production based on the timeless story of Robin Hood. The production will include drama, music, and dance. At this point, students have been cast in an acting ensemble or dance ensemble for the show. Everyone will also be singing and dancing, and there will be opportunities for crossover between activities. The creativity is flowing and there is a great deal of positive input from students in each area of the performing arts: suggesting music, adding material to our script, developing choreography, and learning songs. We look forward to sharing all of this with you in May!

Below is a list of all extra rehearsal dates in the spring, as well as the performance days and times. Please schedule family obligations around these dates. This is a real ensemble endeavor and everyone’s presence is important during final rehearsals and final shows.

Full cast rehearsal: Wednesday, May 15 - Noon – 3:30 p.m.

Full cast dress rehearsal and performance: Wednesday, May 22 12:30 – 5:00 p.m. (Pizza dinner at school) 6:00 p.m. – costumes and show prep 7:00 p.m. – show time!

In-school performance: Thursday, May 23 - 2:00 p.m.

Final performance: Thursday, May 23 (eighth graders return to school at 6:00 p.m.) 7:00 p.m. - show time, followed by reception
