Spring Dance Concert - Tonight
The Waynflete Middle School Dance Enrichment class and the Upper School Danceflete Collective will perform OUT OF THIS WORLD. This mystical and magical dance concert will feature the Middle and Upper School dancers tonight, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Franklin Theater.

Spring Fling is May 18!
Join us for this family friendly-day springtime carnival including games and rides, a used book sale, a barbecue lunch, burritos, ice cream, prizes, a raffle, live music, and more! The day will run from 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online in advance so you can skip the lines.

Introducing the NEW Spring Fling Challenge, an obstacle course on the lower field designed for grades 2-8. From 10:00–11:00 a.m., students are invited to participate in groups of up to 10. Don’t miss this new addition to Spring Fling— click here to reserve your spot! (And don’t worry, the obstacle course for EC-grade 1 still remains!)

Parent Volunteers Needed!
Spring Fling brings together the extended Waynflete community. We need parent volunteers to help to make this day a success! We will be asking parents to sign up for one of two shifts. Please donate your extra books to the Book Sale!
Are your shelves overflowing with books you no longer need? Please donate your gently used books and
audiobooks to the Waynflete Friends of the Library Book Sale which takes place during Spring Fling! All age levels of books are welcome and proceeds benefit our libraries. Books can be dropped off Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17 in the Klingenstein Library.

Health Form Reminder 
It is time to update your child's information in Magnus, our healthcare portal. Parents should have recently received an email with details about how to login and what is required. Click here for detailed instructions. Please note that students may not participate in any Waynflete activities including attending class, physical education, athletics, preseason practices, LEAP Week (for Middle School students), or Outdoor Experience (for Upper School students) until all required forms are completed and submitted to the school.

Green Tip – Time to Mow? Keep it green!
Here are a few eco-friendly lawn care tips: Consider a rotary or electric mower, don’t over mow- longer grass retains water better, leave grass clipping on the lawn for added nutrients or add them to your compost. Click here for more tips.

Parents Association

All Parents are invited: Parents Association Annual Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Please join us on Monday, May 13 to celebrate our year. This year's final Parents Association meeting will take place from 5:00–6:00 p.m. in the Lower School Amphitheater. We will thank this year's volunteers and vote in next year's slate of officers. After the meeting, we will celebrate over an informal dinner at the nearby home of Kristin Valdmanis, Parent Association President.

PMA Event for Parents
By special invitation, Waynflete parents are invited to the Portland Museum of Art’s Director’s Circle and Contemporaries Council Evening Preview and Reception for In the Vanguard: Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, 1950-1969. Join fellow parents and PMA members on Wednesday, May 22 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. for a reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

PA Social Committee 
An enthusiastic group of 20 parents met last week to talk about parent social gatherings, activities and opportunities for next year. It looks like 2019/2020 is going to be a lot fun! Let’s Look Ahead: Kindergarten-Grade 1
On Wednesday, May 15 from 9:00–10:30 a.m. parents of current EC4 students are invited to learn more about the Kindergarten-Grade 1 program through classroom observations and conversation. Anne Hopkins will meet you in the Klingenstein Library for introductions and an overview of the curriculum, then you get to see the faculty and students at work and play. There will be a faculty panel to answer questions after the classroom visits. We will be joined by prospective EC and K-1 parents at this event.

Feeling Handy?
The Lower School play spaces are in need of some mud kitchens! These can be made by a handy person using a few wooden pallets? Looking for a weekend project? Please consider making us one…or two…or three. Thanks!

Middle School "Spring Social" Tomorrow Night 
The Middle School “Spring Social” is tomorrow, Friday, May 10 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. in the Lower School lobby. Please read the letter from seventh-grade Advisors about some changes regarding the evening.

Grade 8 Parents: Info about the Eighth Grade Musical
Please review this letter from the Performing Arts team regarding rehearsals and performances for the eighth grade musical. There will be a full-cast rehearsal on Wednesday, May 15 from noon–3:30 p.m.

The Eighth Grade Performs Robin Hood on May 22
Join us on Wednesday, May 22 (7:00 p.m.) and Thursday, May 23 (2:00 and 7:00 p.m. ) for the eighth-grade performance of the musical Robin Hood in Franklin Theater.

Performing Arts Banquet May 20
The annual Performing Arts Banquet for Upper School students and parents will take place on Monday, May 20 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. All Upper School students who participated in dance, music ensembles, stage crew, and theatre productions are invited to attend with their parents.

Prom is June 1
Upper School students - mark your calendars! Prom is coming up on June 1 at the Falmouth Country Club. Open to all classes—join us for a magical evening!


Volunteers Needed for the Snack Shack

Please be safe when driving to the fields
When driving to the Fore River Fields, please use caution when turning onto Hobart Street from Congress Street. This a dangerous intersection with lots of traffic.

Many cars cut the Hobart Street corner too tight and there have been some close calls with cars coming up Hobart to enter Congress. Please stay to the right as you enter Hobart. Thanks for keeping to the 25 mph speed limit in the neighborhood and respect
ing our neighbors by not blocking driveways.

Enrichment Music Recitals
Family and friends are invited to attend recitals for Enrichment Music students on May 15 and 16 at 7:00 p.m. in Franklin Theater. Come see and cheer on students who take music and voice lessons from our Waynflete music instructors (practicing musicians from our local community)!
